I was contacted a while back by a wonderful Etsy seller – Janet of Felt on the Fly. She inquired about selling the patterns for Ellie, Grace and Rosie at the American Sewing Expo in Michigan at the end of September. I was so flattered and thrilled that she asked, and over the course of recent months I’ve had the chance to chat with Janet on numerous occasions. There’s just something about Janet – her warmth and kindness reaches across the country and is almost palpable, even through the internet. I also got to experience using her amazing, beautiful, gorgeous 100% wool felt. Oh my, it is a dream to use! I decided to make a sister for Rosie, and Zoe is the result:
I used the pattern for Rosie and gave her blond hair and turquoise eyes. Her dress pattern is the same basic pattern, too, but I added a pocket and circle flowers with felt leaves and some embroidered flowers, as well. I love the way she turned out. She will be in Janet’s booth at the American Sewing Expo, so if you’re lucky enough to go, maybe you’ll see Zoe. Let me know if you do!
I just can’t sing the praises of Janet’s 100% wool felt enough. If you do any kind of craft, sewing or needlework with wool felt, you definitely need to check out Felt on the Fly. And then you’ll get the chance to chat with Janet, too!
